The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On March 27, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, who arrived to Turkmenistan to participate in the 20th Foreign Ministers Meeting of Central Asia - European Union.

Expressing gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting and the opportunity to discuss the main areas of interstate cooperation, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Having warmly welcomed the Foreign Minister, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed his best wishes in return to the leadership of the neighboring state, expressing confidence in the constructiveness of the current visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan.

Wishing success for upcoming meetings, the President expressed confidence that the results of these talks will give new impetus to the development of relations not only in a bilateral, but also in a multilateral format.

- Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on strong ties of good-neighborliness that are time tested, emphasized President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

It was noted that the high level of mutual trust and openness inherent to interstate dialogue is a key factor in developing the constructive partnership.

The two countries successfully cooperate within the framework of the United Nations and a number of other international and regional structures, as evidenced by mutual support of initiatives and proposals.

In the context of expanding cooperation between the countries of the Central Asian region in a multilateral format, the importance of the upcoming first Central Asia-European Union Summit in Samarkand was emphasized.

An important topic of discussion was also the prospects for further expansion of traditional partnership in a number of priority areas of mutual interest.

In long-term multifaceted cooperation, a special place is given to trade and economic constituent. Bilateral trade turnover demonstrates positive dynamics, interaction in the fuel-energy, transport-logistics and agricultural sectors is actively expanding.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction that bilateral contacts in the cultural, scientific and educational fields are successfully developing that serves as a bridge for bringing fraternal peoples closer together, strengthening the centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness between them.

As the head of state emphasized, Turkmenistan intends to further strengthen and expand its strategic partnership with the Republic of Uzbekistan for the benefit of two fraternal peoples.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov wished each other good health, well-being and further success in their work, expressing firm confidence in the further progressive development of interstate relations on a bilateral and multilateral basis.
