Issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU discussed
On November 6, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with Audronė Perkauskienė, Deputy Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union, in particular the results of the Central Asia – European Union ministerial meeting held in Ashgabat in March this year.
The meeting noted the importance of Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality, which is one of the pillars of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. In this context, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming International Forum, scheduled to be held on December 12 this year in Ashgabat in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, and the International Day of Neutrality.
In addition, the parties considered issues related to the holding of the next meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation “Turkmenistan-EU”.
Turkmenistan's commitment to further expanding trade and economic cooperation with EU countries was noted.
The diplomats expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and implementing promising projects and programs, particularly in the fields of education, ecology, and transport.
