Meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation

As part of the participation in the forum, a meeting was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov.

Having once again warmly welcomed the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the Head of Tatarstan thanked the distinguished guest for accepting the invitation to visit Kazan to participate in the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2025", as well as for the specific initiatives voiced to strengthen and develop constructive partnership, the relevance and demand of which has been confirmed by time.

As was emphasized, cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan is developing in an ascending line across its entire spectrum. At the same time, the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov especially noted the merits of the Hero-Arkadag in strengthening fruitful bilateral relations.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the Head of Tatarstan conveyed warm words of greeting and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, under whose leadership Turkmenistan continues to confidently move forward along the chosen creative path.

Having thanked for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the delegation of our country, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he was very glad to meet with the Head of Tatarstan in Kazan, and also conveyed cordial greetings from the President of Turkmenistan.

As the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted, the annual holding of such significant events in Kazan aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the countries of the Islamic world testifies to the high authority of Tatarstan and the great international interest in it.

Hero-Arkadag also expressed confidence that the current visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan and the upcoming meetings at various venues will be a significant contribution to the expansion of bilateral relations, which are an important component of the strategic Turkmen-Russian partnership.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for further development of Turkmen-Tatar cooperation were discussed. In this regard, it was emphasized that the fraternal relations between our peoples are based on the similarity of traditions, languages, common cultures, mutual respect and equality.

One of the key factors of systemic and effective bilateral cooperation is regular meetings and contacts at the highest level. In this context, the significance of the visit of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan this year was noted, during which he met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag. At the same time, confidence was expressed that the agreements reached would give a new impetus to Turkmen-Tatarstan relations.

It was also noted with satisfaction that Turkmenistan and Tatarstan productively cooperate in the trade and economic sphere, including in the oil and gas industry, shipbuilding, and the supply of aviation and automobile cargo equipment.

Positive dynamics are characteristic of contacts in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

At the end of the meeting, expressing confidence that multifaceted cooperation will continue to strengthen within the framework of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov wished each other good health and success in their activities, and the two fraternal peoples – well-being and prosperity.
